  • Miss me yet?

I don’t know what it is with my luck, but I can’t seem to get a hold of anyone lately. I tried to call my darling brother, Matt, and I had forgotten that he was in Vegas. I tried to get a hold of my friend Dian, and I can’t get her to answer emails. Hrm. Maybe it’s the phase of the moon or something.

Speaking of moon signs, here’s the moon sign horoscope for today, per a calendar that a friend gave me

“Impatience over “how things should be done” comes easily; especially to September scales and December goats (who shouldn’t go for checkups today, thought that’s fine for everyone else)”

What does that mean? Not that I’m born in September, but that’s just WEIRD!!!! I have to say, though, the only frustration that I have with “how things should be done” is the fact that I have to go to work to make money. YUCK!

For those that were asking, Danielle Maria Livergood (daughter of Gareth and Paula) was born last Wednesday, and got to go home on Friday. I haven’t met her in person yet, but the pictures make her look absolutely gorgeous! Gareth says that she’s got Mommy’s eyes (lucky for her!) and Daddy’s shoulders (unlucky for Mommy!). She’s also over 8lbs, even though she was born early, and she’s got a healthy set of lungs. Poor Gareth and Paula are suffering from sleep depravation and a severe case of “what on earth did we get into”-itis, but I’ll imagine we’ll all be able to spoil her very soon.

Well, talk to y’all later! Have a wonderful Monday, and remember that the weekend is only four days away!!!!

    Love, C

  • Feeling flat?

“The Church says that the earth is flat, but I know that it is round. For I have seen the shadow on the moon, and I have more faith in the shadow than in the Church” – Ferdinand Magellan

I really don’t know what to say to that quote, I just thought it was neat. – C

  • Busy Week

I only have a sec, but I thought that I would publish the latest news. As of about right now, Paula – Gareth’s wife – is being induced. Within hours, hopefully, their daughter, Danielle, should be here, and I’ll have a new baby to play with!

Other than that, not much is going on. There’s been a lot of seminars and meetings that have been interrupting my otherwise peaceful workday. The commercial site also almost got off the ground on sunday, but stalled out due to a crappy webcam.

Well, speaking of work, I’d better get over there. Y’all have a wonderful day!!!!

    Yours,
    C

  • Licking my wounds

I would like to why they bother sending antibiotics home with cats. When Rhiannon (the dog) is sick, she rarely has any medicine that she needs to take, and when she does, she takes it with no problems. When Sid comes home, it’s a twenty minute chase with me; usually on my knees the whole time. I think that the vet thinks that its just a sick joke.

On the up side, we’re getting some rain this morning, which screws up traffic, but keeps me from having to water my plants. Woo-hoo!!

    Enjoy your Tuesday!

  • Loose Ends

I just wanted to let my three loyal readers know that Sid is home and ok now. He gave the vet a horrible time for his entire visit, and you have never seen a group more happy to see a cat go! He had them jumping to his least little whim like an old drill sergant. I think that he misses being that spoiled now that he’s back.

I’d also like to thank you all for your wonderful comments! There’s at least one for almost every post – I think that I even beat Matt on that record…of course, he posted 90% of them. I’d like to thank the lovely Faeriekissed for her charming comment; next time you come back to Texas, we’re going to drink Starbucks dry, girl! I’m raising my cuppa International Coffee’s Orange Cappucino instant coffee to you!

Thanks again for stopping by, y’all, and for all of your support!
    Happy Monday!
    Charlie

  • Mother Theresa’s Wish

Mother Theresa is quoted as saying something along the lines of, “God never gives us more than we can handle, I just wish he didn’t trust me so much.”

    I wish the same thing.

I just had to take Sid the cat to the vet with another urinary blockage. I feel guilty about it because I noticed him acting oddly this morning, but my back hurt, so I went back to bed after calling work. I woke again at ten, and he just started throwing up. That’s when I knew that he had to go. I’m just glad that I stayed home today, because both of us pretty much wrote off his earlier behaviour as being really old and cranky.

The new vet is very nice though. We just started switching the animals over to Dessau Vetrinary Clinic in Austin and away from Wells Branch Pet and Bird (also in Austin). The folks at WBV&B were very rude, and I don’t think they treated the animals very well. This vet has a doctor named Kellee Cambell (DVM) who is good with both the animals and the people, and was very understanding on money issues. The important thing is that she had Sid tested and on a kitty catheter in under 30 minutes, and he should do fine with such exemplary care.

Of course that didn’t stop him from puking on me. I’m going to have to do laundry now. Yuck.

  • Blogs

You know, these blog things are kind of addictive. I’e posted six or seven times since this started, and I can’t stop typing. I wonder if they have rehab for blog addicts? It’s all Matt’s fault. You can blame him for my downward spiral!

Don’t get too used to this, though, sometimes I may go weeks without posting anything, ok? If you get bored, though, you can check out our gorgeous photo gallery at The Mullenweg Genealogy Page. I know it would look better if it was in categories, but Matt and I haven’t set up a system yet (I’m just the concept and research half!). Keep checking back and see how it’s going.

  • Animatrix

I have to tell you, that of the nine shorts in the Animatrix, the one called Beyond is the clearest and the most engaging. Final Flight of the Osiris runs a close second, but I think that part of that is because it’s so beautiful. I’m also rather partial to the film noir one (whose name I can’t remember) but the ending is not very satifying. the last one (again, I can’t remember the name) looks like it was drawn by Escher on acid while watching The Cube and being counseled by Freud. Yes, it was that bizarre and painful.

All in all, the shorts help explain a good deal about Reloaded, so I recommend watching it.

I only wish that it had come out before the sequel did.

  • Seven Fifteen Revisited

Ok, according to my brother, I was wrong about the registration thing. Apparantly you only register if you need to post, not if you want to be emailed with updates. I don’t know how to do the latter. I’m so confused!!!

On the up side I’m watching Animatrix, so I’ll have to give you my thoughts on it when it’s done.

  • Seven Fifteen

It is a humid morning out there! It’s making me miss Houston! Wish me luck as I have to put gas in my car before I go to work, and I forgot to leave early to do that. Ah well.

Oh! I’d tell you all to register, but I don’t know what that is. If one of you two loyal readers out there would like to try it out and let me know, I would appreciate it. I’d assume that it sends you emails every time that I post, but I could be wrong.

    Have a wonderful day, y’all!!!! Love, C
