  • by popular demand…

I’m updating again (hold the applause, please).

Now the cool news: I am updating from my work…on my new laptop!!!!!

(excuse me while I do a little dance of joy)

  • new laptop & Dvorak

good news: my darlin' brother has given me a laptop!!!!! Bad news: I have to learn Dvorak…Ifeel retarded hunting for keys after all these years….

  • Ok, Ok… apparently, I’m wanted…

I got a comment from my brother, and all it said was “Come on and blog again”. I guess I should blog then, huh? Where should I start? Perhaps like Kipling, with a “Once upon a Time, O Best Beloved” for my Best Beloved Brother?

Not much going on as of right now…

Well, I take that back, there’s a lot going on since I last wrote.

My godson, Ian, was born, and that was nice. His dad was sick at his baptism, and put several of us in the hospital with gastroenteritis. That was not so nice, but the poor guy had no clue that he was contagious. My goddaughter, Danielle (Ian’s big sister), continues to be a constant delight, every time I see her. She’s going through potty training right now, so she doesn’t wear a daiper anymore. I ended up spending a few minutes on Saturday convincing her that big girls have to wear something. She just grinned and let me put her pull-ups on; I doubt they lasted five minutes after I walked out the door.

A friend of mine contracted rheumatic fever, so say a little prayer for her. My friends get the strangest illnesses.

I had a birthday that really really sucked. However, it was very funny (in a ‘peals of hysterical laughter’ sort of way), and all the days around it were just fabulous. I also got to go to Orlando for work, which was a blast, and I ended up walking the entirety of Epcot, so I was nice and tired by the time I got home.

I’m in the middle of close of the month, so I have to get to bed early, but ask me later, and I’ll regale you with my birthday tale of woe. For, O Best Beloved, you will See and Understand, that a Tired Sister is not a good Teller of Tales…Good night, dear readers!!

  • Is it September yet?

My brother saw Episode III, and loved it, so I guess I’ll try it out.

I saw the original at about 5 years of age, so it was pretty monumental for me. Han Solo was even my first crush. However, I and II were so – dare I say it? – PATHETIC (with the exception of a few scenes). The only thing that I remember about the last one, besides Yoda’s fight, was that I started counting Portman’s costume changes.

Oh, I remember thinking “well, at least we know that Luke came by his whining honestly”.

But still, I’ll see it. And I’ll let you know what I think….

….And then I’ll contiunue to countdown to September 30th, like a good Browncoat.

Serenity is knowing that Joss Whedon is my Master now.

  • Man oh man!

Why can’t I get to bed at a decent time already? Not that it’s really bothering me, I just would like to occasionally get eight hours sleep. I suppose I ought to start working out in the mornings, if it’s going to wake me up this much, but then I’d be gross for work, and my hair would be wet.

    There’s a solution – shave my head!! 🙂

Ok, definately time for sleep. Hugs to all, goodnight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I’m back…

Well, thanks to the switching of computers, and a nasty stomach virus that actually ended up w/ me seeing the front end (hospital) side of my career choice for a couple of hours, I have been a bad, bad blogger. But my precious brother called me today, and upgraded my site as a get-well-soon gift, and that really perked me up. So after placing myself in time out for a couple of hours (bad blogger!), I sat down to write you, dear reader, a quick note…way past my bedtime. So, here’s me, letting you know that I’m alive, and full of love and well wishes from family and friends. I promised myself that once I could stomach real food, that I would go into work, so I’d better get to bed.

Slight left: why is it that when every other employee at my company has ever been in the hospital, they get a plant and a card?? I go in, and I just get a phone call, “Hope you feel better, come back soon.” Kudos to the Round Rock Medical center, though, as I’m better and only have three bruises on my arm. I’m glad that the nurse took his time finding a vein instead of sending me to work looking like a herion addict!! Now, let’s just see if the billing department tries to screw me, because after almost six years in this business, I know how to play this like a pro!

Love and hugs to all, and thanks again for all your well wishes. Sleep well, my friends, and sweet dreams to you all!

  • Tickling Matt Pink…

I’m afraid that I may have started a trend…but I adore it even though it may get me killed by my darling brother! 🙂 But the whole world should know that ILoveMatt ! I always have and always will, but now I’m in good company! Thus far I’ve been joined by Ozh, the Queen’s Caffeine (isn’t that just the best name for a site??) , Andrea R (who has a John Hughes meme that I’m going to have to try!), Doctorvee, michaelm, and Nao. Forgive me for leaving people out, as I know I did, but I’m really late for work, and I’m going to catch hell for it as it is! Extra kudos to Ozh for coming up with the idea and posting the link. Hugs to you all!!!!
Update: I apologize if you got pinged a few times, I had some trouble w/ the post…Sorry!
Update: hmm…the “Tickling Matt Pink” phrase, is what I started – not the tag! Ozh actually started the tag; he deserves more than a few hat tips for that!!! 🙂

  • Asbestos, Ikea and WP

Ok, I’ve gotten a number of emails in the last few days asking me what I think of Matt. ‘Scuze me, but what the hell do you possibly believe I could think of Matt? He’s my brother! I understand that some folks don’t get along w/ siblings, but I like mine. So, lets put this to rest once and for all:

My brother is a genius. He is also handsome, and possessing of a wickedly funny sense of humor. He got my father’s knack for anything electronic, and my Mother’s talent with design. He’s incredibly talented in music as well. I would detest him, if he wasn’t so good natured. He’s also incredibly aware of what he wants for a guy his age. I enjoy spending time with him, and I miss him more than anything when he’s gone. He’s very amiable, and responds to spontaneous changes in plans well. I don’t tell him these things often enough, so I’m happy to put them in print. I can’t even find the words to describe to you how much I love him.

That being said, I hope all you morons who sent me nasty emails feel stupid. This is just the dumbest thing in the universe to make this much fuss over. I always try to say something nice about everyone, so here you go: I hope that this brings a few of you guys out of your mother’s basements for a while; maybe you can meet a girl who won’t fall immeadiately asleep when you bitch about this.

Actually, a couple of these emails were very well worded and actually quite polite. I apologize to you few, however if you have any issues or questions, please address them to people that actually work on or for WPress. I have not answered your emails b/c I don’t know HOW to answer them. I will not forward them on. You are responsible for them.

For those that have sent support, or have been kind, thank you so much. I’ll pass on your comments to Matt (see, B-Doll, I really can do quotes!!!), as I’m sure he will appreciate them.

Other than that, I just got some furniture to put together. This has convinced me that the folks @ IKEA are complete sadists, as well as mad geniuses who must design all their furniture in zero-G environments. But I will overcome. I will conquer this challenge. That is all I have to say on this matter. I have to work tomorrow. Good Night, Ladies and Gentlemen. Hope to “see” you soon.

  • Testing 1…2….3…..

Ok, I just found this feature in my site, so I’m going to try this and see if it works. Ladies and gentleman, my only SxSW picture thus far, and it’s nowhere near the conference…my adorable brother:

    Matt in my backyard....

Update: Let’s make that “Ladies and Gentlemen“. Thanks Mathias!!! Sorry about that guys!!!!

  • She’s so Pop-u-lar…

Ok, this weekend has gone totally weird, and I can’t blame it all on SxSW at all… So many relatives are in town: Mom, Daddy, a whole bunch of cousins and Matt, and those that I’ve heard from all want to do something today. Tom even says he has a surprise for me (‘scuze me while I do the Aunt Sally’s Pralines happy dance!!!! I love my cousin!!!). So, I’m glad I got up early on a Sunday. I’m still rankling about having to get up early on Saturday after BreakbreadwithBrad – Brad, darlin’, you were a delightful host, and you made me feel welcome…thanks for tainting pinatas for me FOREVER!
